Business Challenges
Nowadays the topicality of data protection becomes more and more vital. As the information value increases it becomes necessary to use more secured encryption algorithms which can provide reliable information protection and do not allow criminals to get access to your data. Bit by bit digital signature displaces paper signature as it can authenticate the information authorship and invariability of each byte.
The current system is designed for cryptographic protection of information and generation of digital signatures. The system incorporates the following subsystems:
- Desktop Security System;
- Corporate Document Management System;
- Web Form Signing;
The system was developed taking into account principles of usability, work facilitation and reliability. It is based on easily scaled solutions that can satisfy requirements of each client.
System Functionality
Desktop Security System
This system includes the set of cryptographic procedures for a separate computer. It allows a user to encrypt and decrypt files, generate and verify digital signatures right from the Explorer window by selecting the appropriate option in the contextual menu. The embedded transparency system facilitates a user with direct processing of encrypted files. All these features provide reliable information security on a private computer even for an unskilled user.
Corporate Document Management System
This system extends the desktop solution to the corporate level requirements.
In addition to a single-user version capabilities it has the server for centralized document storage, exchange and distribution. Reliable procedures for identification and authentication provide access distribution to documents for system users with different rights and authorities.
Usage of cryptographic methods both on client computers and on the server significantly decreases the risk of information leakage.
Web Form Signing
This subsystem provides digital signing certification of data transmitted on generating any requests, for instance, when populating forms on WWW pages. This system consists of the WEB server section and the section launched on the client's computer. Form signing is similar to paper document signing - in both cases the author authenticates his/her personality and confirms willingness to answer for the consequences of this action. This approach expands capabilities of e-business evolution.
Summary
The current system satisfies requirements of a wide range of customers. Though each module is developed as an independent application, they are based on a single solution. The stated principle provides easy scalability and the list of system modules can be extended in the future according to customers' requirements.
