Business Challenges
The proposed system is intended to ease the medical work out of the office, in the field, or when generic medical equipment is not available or not enough. The system can read patients' telemetry data, analyse it and helps the doctor to diagnose patients.
System Functionality
The following telemetry data can be read:
- body temperature;
- pulse;
- blood pressure;
- electrocardiogram;
- spirogram.
The following data processing is available:
- Aid during diagnosis - the program produces a list of the most possible illnesses basing on the symptom database and the patient's telemetry data.
- The doctor is notified if signal irregularities occur.
- The data is compressed and saved in the case history.
- Data printing.
Keeping of case history:
- Patients' list keeping: add/remove a patient, modify the patient's data.
- Making printouts of the patient's case history.
- Adding new records into the case history (note, there's no option to edit or delete previous records!).
- Printing of referrals, certificates and prescriptions.
A list of medical products and illnesses.
Summary
The system will take care of patients' data security. Password authentication will be required to run the program. Patients' case histories and associated data will be encrypted and stored on the removable media (CompactFlash cards).
Used languages & Technologies
We propose to develop the mobile diagnosis system for handheld computers running under Windows CE 3.0/HPC 2000 version (HP Jornada 720, which retails at $800). This professional handheld has several expansions slots, allowing to simultaneously connect and read data from multiple hardware sensors.
